34. Pär and Kerstin from Röckla

About

In the 17th century a farmer’s wife named Kerstin was abducted by trolls. She was taken to a hill named Käringekullen (Old Woman’s Hill). For seven years, people could see her sitting there on a stone every Christmas Eve, combing her hair. Her tragic fate, and that of her husband, is sung about in the wellknown song Röcklavisan.
